Valdensia

The ''Valdensia'' project is the result of a collaboration between the BCU Lausanne and Wikimedia CH. The goal of this project is to automatically upload, in the french version of Wikipedia, 800 biographies of personnalities from the canton of Vaud, originally stored on a server of the BCU.

Started in March 2011, this project is supposed to be completed in November 2011. It is divided in 3 phases.

• First phase: a first set of 10 biographies have been selected to evaluate the feasability of buiding a bot to import directly the text in Wikipedia. At the same time, the complete list of 800 names has been reviewed and analyzed to identify existing articles and potential issues.
• Second phase: a second set of 40 biographies have been selected and imported to control the output. At the end of this phase, a review will be conducted and a formal approval will be given on both sides before starting the last part of the project.
• Third phase: in the last step of the project, all remining biographies will be automatically imported in Wikipedia, with a frequency of 5-6 articles per day until completion.
